Very good machine for the money.
This machine is excellent. I wish I had gotten it sooner as I am a seamstress, and it does so many things I need to do.

Perfect for a beginner like me!
I am no expert quilter, just learning and I think this is a perfect machine for beginners. Very easy to use. I skipped the manual and jumped to the DVD. I was able to thread the machine in no time! Started practicing, trying different stitches, and haven't get any error message yet. I also took my first quilting class and eager to start my first quilt project. I'll probably write another review when I am finished with my first work, but for now I can define myself as a very satisfied customer.

which is funny since I bought the machine for quilting
I bought this machine a couple months ago and I was really anxious due to some of the negative reviews and the fact that I am used to heavy, non computerized, older work horse type machines. I previously had a singer for 14 years before it finally broke. I was a little intimidated at first with all of the computerized things but over the past few weeks I've grown accustomed to it by reading the manual and playing around with it. So far I've used several different feet and features on a variety of apparel projects, which is funny since I bought the machine for quilting...but this machine is so much fun that I wanted to start sewing clothing and using the decorative stitches. So far I've made my little girl several shirts, dresses, skirts and even a hat. I'm really enjoying this machine and don't have any complaints so far. Oh, and the bobbin winding is sooo easy!! I also do not have to pull up the bobbin thread manually, it does it automatically, and the needle can be threaded automatically as well and it's a great feature. I suppose if I had anything negative to say, it would be that the little round washer/screwdriver tool is not a great concept. There is not enough room for anyone with adult size hands to hold that thing while taking off the needle plate or switching out the shank without banging up against the top of the machine. I wish they would have rethought that tool into something that did not require your whole fist to fit into a small space with a tool the size of a quarter. A regular mini-screwdriver or something with an arm on it would have been much easier to use. But that's my only frustration so far. I'm very happy with this machine.

Great Machine for what I do
I purchased this sewing machine a month ago and can't be happier. This is a quality sewing machine. I have been sewing all my life and I basically just need to sew stitches along a straight line. Tension on this machine is great and my stitches look beautiful. I choose this particular model from the Designio series for the large LCD screen and I love it. Threading is not any different from all the other machines I have used before, so no puzzle to solve there. I enjoy the speed control by pushing a button rather than adjusting foot pressure on the foot pedal (like all my previous machines). This machine is such a pleasure to use, I immediately resurrect a quilt top project set aside more than a year ago. I can't wait to learn to use the built-in stitches soon and explore the other functions.

A very nice & easy machine to operate.
I'm new at this. I stared at the machine for a couple of days before I even got down to using it. I watched the instructional dvd that came with it a few times. Became frustrated with the motor locking up on me. Well ... this is computerized and one has to just "follow the instructions."

Great machine!
This machine is a replacement for a 40+ year old Wards Signature. I am having a great time learning new tricks on this new machine.
