An Even Feed/Walking Foot is a moving feed system that holds and moves fabric between the presser foot's upper feed dog and the machine's lower feed dogs to better control difficult fabrics as well as multiple layers of fabric. The Brother SA140 Even Feed / Walking Foot is great for quilting and sewing, especially when matching prints or plaids or fabric drift are relevant concerns. Brother offers several walking feet which differ in the size of the feed dog, shank height, etc. Please check your manual or the machine listings on this website to find the correct walking foot to fit your machine. Walking feet are not for use with reverse or side-to-side sewing. Walking feet are also not for use with certain built-in stitches that require movement of the feed dogs in any direction other than forward.

Definitely helpful for thicker "sticky" leather
This made sewing thick hair on cowhide much easier (still not perfect though). It seems to be good quality

Works Great
I have been using it for a few months now and, so far, it's been doing its job wonderfully. I did a full size rag quilt with it for my son's bed and it worked nicely across the several layers of fabric. It can be a bit noisy sometimes making you wonder if there is anything wrong with your machine, but I suppose it's just normal.

The real thing?
If you have never used a walking foot, you will be amazed at how this foot makes your sewing layers stay put. That said, the picture accompanying this item at the time of my purchase clearly showed the Brother logo. No such logo on the walking item I received. I believe it is a knock off. So far it's working. Fingers crossed.

It's worth it
Great product! I've never machine quilted and wanted to try the method. The walking foot made all the difference. It grabs all the layers of fabric eliminating the pucker! Very easy to install. Figured it out without watching a YouTube video.

I like this item. It makes my sewing job much smoother. I have only had it for a month, but could not do my quilting without it.

Walking foot is fit for the test!
This genuine walking foot arrived in record speed and is a real Brother walking foot. It was about the price I expected to pay which wasn't cheap, but I did not want a knock off. I just used the walking foot today to straight line quilt and it works beautifully. If you need a replacement foot like I did, because I lost the one that came with my Brother 2800D, this one is great!

This item arrived quickly as promised and fit my Brother XR1355 machine perfectly. I was working on a baby quilt at the time and it made things so much easier. I would definitely order again from this company!

I'm walking! This makes sewing thick fabrics or multiple layers a cinch!
Takes a little work to figure out how to get it on the machine - but don't give up. It worked perfectly for my Brother Quilting Machine - XR3140! I can imagine I'll be using this little gadget quite often! (They should offer the quilting guide to be sold WITH the foot - it must be ordered separately - SA132. To be honest, it should come with it, not priced separately.)
