An Even Feed/Walking Foot is a moving feed system that holds and moves fabric between the presser foot's upper feed dog and the machine's lower feed dogs to better control difficult fabrics as well as multiple layers of fabric. The Brother SA140 Even Feed / Walking Foot is great for quilting and sewing, especially when matching prints or plaids or fabric drift are relevant concerns. Brother offers several walking feet which differ in the size of the feed dog, shank height, etc. Please check your manual or the machine listings on this website to find the correct walking foot to fit your machine. Walking feet are not for use with reverse or side-to-side sewing. Walking feet are also not for use with certain built-in stitches that require movement of the feed dogs in any direction other than forward.

Makes quilting so much easier!!!
I purchased this walking foot to work on quilts. It works perfectly and I have not put a different foot on since I got it. I use it for everything -- just sewing the pieced to get ready for quilting, the quilting process, and putting the whole thing together. This was a great investment!

Just what I needed.
The attachments arrived on time, were well packaged, and very easy to install on my sewing machine. I'm happy I went with factory equipment as opposed to aftermarket so I knew it would attach and work fine.

Works great!
I have been using it for a few months now and, so far, it's been doing its job wonderfully. I did a full size rag quilt with it for my son's bed and it worked nicely across the several layers of fabric. It can be a bit noisy sometimes making you wonder if there is anything wrong with your machine, but I suppose it's just normal. I read several reviews and explored other product possibilities before settling on this one because of the price, but I ended up deciding to buy this one since it's an original brother accessory and because of the reviews. And I am happy that I did so, because it works just as it should and it's sturdy enough to be able to tell it will last me a long time.

Spend the extra dough and get quality.
I got this walking foot to machine quilt. I tortured myself over whether I should get the generic foot for cheap or spring for the brother brand one. I am glad I went for the Brother brand. I read about the others breaking after little use. I've abused this foot over the last several months and it's still performing like a champ.

Great-working Product
I have a Brother 950 embroidery/sewing machine. I used this walking foot for the first time while sewing fleece pants. I could not believe how well it worked. It installed easily and kept the fabric from bunching up as I sewed even the thick waist band. I was VERY pleased. I have sewed for decades without a walking foot and I have no idea why I didn't try one sooner!

This thing is fantastic. Pricing was fair (and a good $20 less than my local shop), arrived really quickly and the action on it is surprisingly smooth. Holds together layers and layers without pinning. Best thing going if you need to sew thick layers or tricky fabric types.
