An Even Feed/Walking Foot is a moving feed system that holds and moves fabric between the presser foot's upper feed dog and the machine's lower feed dogs to better control difficult fabrics as well as multiple layers of fabric. The Brother SA140 Even Feed / Walking Foot is great for quilting and sewing, especially when matching prints or plaids or fabric drift are relevant concerns. Brother offers several walking feet which differ in the size of the feed dog, shank height, etc. Please check your manual or the machine listings on this website to find the correct walking foot to fit your machine. Walking feet are not for use with reverse or side-to-side sewing. Walking feet are also not for use with certain built-in stitches that require movement of the feed dogs in any direction other than forward.

Brother SA140 Even Feed/Walking Foot
This is the best buy product! Mine arrived really fast and I was surprised it runs smoothly! I don't need to pin because it automatically holds layers together. It is a good investment if you are sewing thick layers or very tricky fabrics. I also use it while sewing fleece pants. It surprisingly works very well! It kept my fabric well and prevented the layers from bunching up even, especially when I sewed the thick waistband. I am very satisfied and I'm glad I bought it! I should have invested in this walking foot sooner!

Why did I wait so long?
I have been sewing since I was a child. Why have I waited so long to use a walking foot or even to purchase my own?! It is perfect. I can see why some people never remove it from their machine unless they have to use a different specialty foot. Since receiving my foot I have altered two shirts and a dress and everything has gone wonderfully (and any mistakes made were purely my own). Yes, I wish it snapped on like my other brother feet but I also understand why it doesn't and it won't keep me from using it in the slightest.
