An Even Feed/Walking Foot is a moving feed system that holds and moves fabric between the presser foot's upper feed dog and the machine's lower feed dogs to better control difficult fabrics as well as multiple layers of fabric. The Brother SA140 Even Feed / Walking Foot is great for quilting and sewing, especially when matching prints or plaids or fabric drift are relevant concerns. Brother offers several walking feet which differ in the size of the feed dog, shank height, etc. Please check your manual or the machine listings on this website to find the correct walking foot to fit your machine. Walking feet are not for use with reverse or side-to-side sewing. Walking feet are also not for use with certain built-in stitches that require movement of the feed dogs in any direction other than forward.

Didn't work as well with velvet as I had hoped ...
Didn't work as well with velvet as I had hoped, but so far that is all I've used it with.

Worth the price for Brother quality, it works.
My wife is using the Brother walking foot for a queen size quilt and she is pleased with the way this works. There are less expensive walking foot units out there, but Brother quality is worth the price.

Easy to install and use
I desperately needed a walking foot to complete a quilt I was making. It was my first quilt so I didn't even know what I needed until I needed it. This was delivered promptly and got the job done. It was easy to install, too. Great quality.

great accessory!
I just made a faux fur vest that I lined. I could not have done this without the walking foot, I am very happy with it. Also, I found that other brands did not fit. my machine.

Excellent sewing accessory
I had never used this type of foot before but it was recommended in one of the CRAFTSY.COM courses. VERY helpful. Still need to practice a bit, but definitively helps for knit and fine fabrics.

stars... the first walking foot I've ever used and I love it! It worked exactly as I'd hoped
This was the first walking foot I've ever used and I love it! It worked exactly as I'd hoped. The instructions made it easy to attach to machine. I had paid extra for 1-day shipping and it arrived late, buy Amazon took care of that
