Nice entry level, low price point machine. No complaints here
Just read manual and set this machine up last night. Easy to follow instructions for threading and set up. had it going in no time. So far have only stitched using a basting stitch on denim quilt blocks and it worked flawlessly. Refreshing to have an easy to learn machine after trying to learn a Bernina 830 last time. The Sparrow will be used by others who come to sew and quilt at my house as well as a travel machine for my own use and as a spare. Not a problem at all, but I noticed it is a little louder as very slow speed than I'm used to w/ my old mechanical singer machine. Quiets right down as sewing speed picks up. What I like: 1. price point- this machine is perfect for the beginning seamstress/ quilter; 2. ease of set up and operation- this machine was very easy to thread and bottom load bobbin is familiar to me. Winding the bobbin was no problem, also similar to older Singer machines. 3. Mechanical machine- no wait for computer to boot up and no expensive repair bills when it goes out. 4. nice box of accessories that are stored right on the machine. ( 4 bobbins, seam guide7. looks like it uses standard presser feet and accessories (I think I might be able to use the walking foot ,from my Singer 6212 on the Sparrow). What I don't like: 1. (not a problem for me because I have another larger quilting machine), but the space between needle and body of machine (throat depth?) is not very wide, so if one wants to quilt, QAYG method would be necessary.

Skip the Singer - GET THIS
After months of arguing with my Singer Simple and being thoroughly disgruntled - I borrowed an Eversewn Sparrow from my local quilting shop. I loved it and couldn't wait to get my own! I paid for 2 day shipping and have been happily sewing ever since! Easy to set up, easy to use, reliable. What more do you need?
