Gingher 8” Knife Edge Bent Dressmaker Shears

VERY FAST shipping, and these shears are super sharp. I cut fabric all day long as one of the dying breed of furniture upholsterers and I keep my scissors sharp. These are excellent. I use 10 inch shears for cutting the fabric - small shears would take forever and tire me out, but these I wanted to sit beside the industrial sewing machine just for clipping threads and making 1/2" relief cuts to allow me to bend the fabric at corners. These are excellent quality and quality is worth paying extra - however these happen to be a great low price. Buy them for the quality, but enjoy them also for the price.

Super sharp. Great feel and balanced in your hand. I keep these safely put away and only use to cut out my patterns on material. I expect with a little bit of care these scissors will remain super sharp for years. I do not use them to cut paper or elastic or any thing other than material.

My grandma was looking for a good pair of shears for sewing so I ordered these for her as a Mothers Day present. She just called and told me that she absolutely loves them and has never had such a good pair of shears before.

I absolutely LOVE these scissors! As many reviews have mentioned, these are a bit heavy, but on the flip side, they have a nice weight to them that make them stable and easy to cut with. I was using really crumby scissors to cut flannel before these, and this doesn't even compare! They cut flannel like butter! I am not a very experienced sewer, but I can definitely say that everyone and anyone who sews should have a good pair of scissors. And these are so reasonably priced! Highly recommend.

My mother had a pair passed down to her from her mother, so on and so forth. I needed my own. I cut a lot of vinyl and do auto upholstery projects and furniture projects. These shears? Love 'em. Nice and heavy in the hand, smooth and sharp. Make sure you don't settle on a pair of these made elsewhere than Italy. I've heard rumors that, here and there, people receive pairs made in China...terrible! Return 'em and demand something of lasting quality made by a nation with reputable quality standards! How do you say it...Fatto en Italia? Settle for none less with these shears and I doubt you'll ever find anything of notable better quality.

My mom was a seamstress when she was young and has always sworn by her Gingher shears. Now that I've started sewing, I decided to order a pair for myself. She wasn't kidding! I was using a pair of Fiskars (and still use their a pair of their pinking shears) but I can't believe the difference. The Gingher shears were sharp right out of the package and were only stiff for the first few uses. Now they fly right through fabric! I am also amazed at how precisely I can cut corners and angles with them. Super happy customer here!

I have always believed that Gingher shears are the best although I believe there is one other brand that comes up to the same quality. I have a number of different Gingher scissors that were purchased over 20 years ago and are still in good condition but since I haven't been able to find my dressmaker shears I ordered new ones which I am sure will last at least another 20 years.

Mine say "Made in Italy." The high quality is obvious. These have a considerable heft. The finish is beautiful. The pivot is adjustable. They can be disassembled for "deep" cleaning and to facilitate sharpening when necessary. They come plenty sharp. Their size and excellent grip helps when cutting thick or tough materials or multiple layers. With a modicum of care, these will deliver a lifetime of use.

Wonderful scissors! I checked prices in a couple of stores of the exact pair and these were half their prices,so that made me happy. They are etched with the “Gingher” brand/logo. I love them! I will station ”hand-slappers” in strategic locations to ensure these are only used for fabric!!!!
