Janome CoverPro 900CPX Coverstitch Machine w/Premier Package

If you’re looking for a coverstitch machine instead of a basic serging machine, then you might have found it in the Janome CoverPro 900CPX. This distinctive machine has a expansive choice of features that is bound to please all of you at-home sewists!

This machine’s design is quite innovative. Although has been designed as a home sewing machine, it is performs like an industrial-style machine. It is high speed, able to perform up to 1000 stitches in a minute. It comes with a long arm and is heavy-duty enough to handle most any project you throw at it.

The beautiful thing in all of this is that the Janome CoverPro 900CPX is so simple to use, it’s almost like any home sewing machine. This model boasts one of the largest working areas out on the market today, giving sewists a 4 inch x 5.5 inch working space. This so helpful when the machine is used in free-arm configuration.

The stitch length can vary from 1 to 5 mm, and the stitch length as well as the differential feed can be manipulated through dials on the belt cover – easy enough, right? The presser foot lifter is out of your way when you are sewing, it's found on the back of the machine behind the needle.

The exceptional Janome CoverPro 900CPX coverstitch machine comes with the Janome company warranty, which is a generous 25 years on mechanical parts, 5 years on electrical parts, and 1 year on labor.

Makes nice stitches and easy to setup

Posted by Steve on 23rd May 2018

I bought this coverstitch machine for my girlfriend who sews bathing suits all of the time. We live in Kauai, so I was concerned it would get beat up during shipment, but it came ready to rock out of the box. She said it's easy to thread and once she figured out the thread tensioning, after she installed her own thread, she was sewing away. She also looked at the 1000CPX, which has an adjustable stitch width, but the two settings are either narrower or wider than the stitch on the 900CPX, and she likes the middle width best for most projects. All-in-all, she seems very happy with it, and says it makes quality stitches. Have fun & happy sewing!

    Great machine!

Posted by Terry on 23rd May 2018

Great machine, worked right out of the box. This machine takes a little getting used to. If you haven't used a coverstitch machine before, take some time to go through some of the many U-tube videos (free) available, and be patient. Machine appears to be very tough and solidly made. My one regret is that I didn't get the three-needle model. Now I have to sell this one and buy another one. By the way, "bonus bundle" is pretty bogus. Did not include pictured CD, special attachments are pretty useless, and a few spare needles come with machine anyway. Glad I didn't pay extra for the "bonus".

    Works Great!

This machine is exactly what I have wanted for the past twelve years. It makes sewing for my grandchildren a dream! It is easy to use, and arrived already threaded, so I know that it was tested at the factory prior to shipping.

I have already used it a lot and I love the stitch

Posted by Donna Miller on 23rd May 2018

I debated about this machine for a long time and finally decided to get it. I have already used it a lot and I love the stitch. The first few things I hemmed had some skipped stitches, which I found very upsetting, but it doesn't seem to be a problem now that I've been using it for a while. I think certain fabrics can cause skipped stitches. It saves time and I'm glad I got it. My only complaint is that the manual isn't up-to-date, there is a switch on the front right side of the CoverPro 900CPX that is not explained in the book or on the website. The switch is labeled with two pictures that look the same to me...I still have no idea what that switch is for. If anyone can explain I would appreciate it.

    USE BULKY NYLON THREAD!

Posted by C. Schutze on 23rd May 2018

Okay, for the first 6 months of having this machine I thought for sure this was the WORST thing I had ever spent money on. Ever. I sew a lot of knit apparel and I purahsed this specifically to do more professional hems. There was a sale on thread, so I bought a ton of normal all purpose thread in matching three spool sets. And then the terror began. I spent hours and hours trying to get this thing to stop skipping stitches. And right when I thought I had it, I would start my project and about half way through, nope. And the worst part was that while wearing my clothes, the hems that I thought had worked all started falling out. I wanted to throw it away. But alas, I had this one set of BULKY NYLON thread that I had used before in my serger and it matched what I was working on. PERFECT. Seriously, my jaw dropped. To test my theory I went and purchased a few more colors. Again, PERFECT. I have used it constantly for the last 6 months with wonderful results. Why is this such a secret? I must have looked at a gazillion tutorials and blogs trying to figure out this machine, and no one out there said it was the thread! Please save yourself from having to rip stitches and redo your projects and invest in this thread. It has enough stretch, silk and wonder to make this machine your new best friend.

5.0 out of 5 starsEasy to use, beautiful hems

Posted by Kammy on 23rd Sep 2016

I have a serger and sewing machine so I avoided getting a coverstitch machine for sometime. However, I could just not get the types of hems I wanted with my twin needle on the sewing machine. I finally bought this machine and am glad that I did. The hems come out beautifully and I find it easy to thread. As for ending the stitches, there are some good youtube videos out there that tell you how to do this. I would recommend watching those videos before attempting to use the machine because there are some differences even if you are an experienced seamstress like myself.
