Couldn't be happier...
Well, the third time truly is the charm! This is the third sewing machine I've purchased since my Singer purchased back in the early seventies died on me in about the same number of years (three). The first replacement was another Singer and the second was a Brother, both proving to be huge disappointments with limited capabilities (even with all the fancy embroidery stitches), particularly when sewing thick or heavy duty fabrics, such as upholstery fabrics, but not so with my new Janome Threadbanger. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive utility machine, i.e. ordinary, everyday seam repairs, hemming of jeans with the bulky welt seams or something that will handle heavy upholstery fabrics, this one should suffice very well. And, as usual, Amazon filled the order expeditiously and I had my new machine in three days, all the way up in Alaska. Thanks Amazon!

Quality machine!!!!
This is definitely a "workhorse" machine. I bought this because my faithful 1977 White dressmaker heavy duty machine had finally had enough hours of wear. I based my purchase off prior experience, extensive research and reading many reviews. I couldn't be happier for just out of the box plug & play. This machine has a solid sturdy build but runs like a purring kitten. I have every confidence this machine will last as long as my old one. Bravo Janome!

This machine works great. I had a few bobbin problems but my husband gladly showed me what I was doing wrong. I recomend this sewing machine to anyone that needs a heavy duty machine that runs smoothly.

So happy I chose this sewing machine!
I am a young designer establishing my line of leather outerwear and handbags. I gotta say, this machine got everything I wanted. Just tried sewing 2 layers medium thick leather and it goes through with no problem. Manual is pretty easy to understand and i can see myself using it for a long time. Body is made out of metal so I am pretty sure it will last long. and its not too heavy and not light either. Just perfect with so much capability. Also the amazon and the seller did the great job packaging. I got it next day I ordered. I am so happy that I chose this one over the other brand name sewing machines. This is definitely heavy duty but I wouldn't expect to sew multiple layers of denim or leathers, just in case! I love it :)
