A great machine for my needs
I have only used it a couple of times so far but the machine is great and easy to use and have good instructions. I love the needle threader since I struggle to see to thread myself. It has just enough stitches for me, I don't need 200 options.

it's a wonderful heavy duty machine with all the stitches you are likely to ever need.
Nice Heavy Duty non computer machine. Old Machine was a Janome MC 4000 Worked well till computer board went out. Found computer board in Australia for $572.00 which is why the HD 3000 Was so attractive...and it's a wonderful heavy duty machine with all the stitches you are likely to ever need. Already on my second BABY sized quilt.

Terrific Heavy Duty Machine!
I was looking for a heavy duty machine to replace my old Kenmore from the 1980's, and this machine is perfect! I sew with a lot of heavy fabrics for home furnishings, and the Janome 3000 sews through all fabric like a breeze. Very simple to use, and the instructions are great. This machine is great for someone who wants reliability and a solid machine. I love the fact that it is heavy and stays put on my sewing table. I am very happy with this purchase! Terrific Heavy Duty Machine!

Extremely happy!
Have had this machine for about 4 months now, and I have been extremely happy with it. I wanted a heavy duty machine that would last me a long time, and though it's too soon to tell I think my HD3000 and I are going to be good friends for a long, long time. It has handled everything I have tried so far beautifully, from jeans to silks to cotton piecework. I think the 18 included stitches are all I'll ever really need, and unlike a lot of people I find the stich-selection-indicator to be just fine (it's not actually a light, just a red dot that moves back and forth).

Hobbiest
A good replacement for a dead 1981 Singer. It actually has more power than the singer did and went through a stack as high as the foot in the normal raised position. Power is important for upholstery work as it might also be for jeans. Another difference is the top bobbin, you can run off the work and back on without creating a problem. The needle threader is a cute trick but takes longer. Notes: The large spool holder will keep the thread from catching on the spools notch. To tell which stitch pattern is selected there is a light under your selection, so dim I didn't notice it. The foot control cord could be a little longer. You have to push a little hard to raise the foot to the full open position but it works fine and gives plenty of room. Overall, some parts aren't is heavily built but it does seem to work better and be a bit more powerful, I like it.
