Juki MCS-1500 Cover Stitch and Chain Stitch Machine
For professional results when sewing apparel and decorative items, having a sewing machine that can both cover stitch and chain stitch will definitely give you more options when it comes to your creative projects. You can find such a machine with the Juki MCS 1500!
The Juki MCS 1500 is a great machine capable of both cover stitch and chain stitch in one machine at a great affordable price. It features 4-thread, 3-thread (wide), and 3-thread (narrow) cover stitches which are great for hems, necklines, cuffs of sleeves, and more.
The stitches also stretch, meaning you can use this machine for stretchable fabrics. The chain stitch is great for decorative stitching, but also serves a purpose – because it is quite strong, it’s great for waistbands and the side seams of pants as well.
The presser foot on the Juki MCS 1500 can be lifted easily at an upward angle to make it easier for you to slip the fabric underneath. The pressure of the presser foot is also adjustable based on the fabric you are working with.
The extension plate has guide lines to make it easier for you to manage your seams, while the presser foot also comes with a guide to use. There is an external thread cutter as well to make things even easier for you. The differential feed is adjustable with a single dial to make it easier to sew different fabrics.
The Juki Company warranty on the Juki MCS 1500 is 2 years for electrical parts, 5 years for mechanical parts exclusive of consumables parts, and a 90 day labor period to allow for adjustments by the vendor.
The Juki MCS 1500 - It Sews Like A Dream!
Features:
Cover stitch. Perfect for various applications such as simple hems, sleeve cuffs and necklines. Since the stitching stretches, it's ideal for stretch fabrics.

||
|
Chain stitch. Since the lower thread forms a chain on the wrong side of the fabric, the stitch is strong when it's stretched making it ideal for stitching the waist and side seams of pants. It also does well as decorative stitching for necklines. |
|
Presser foot lifter. The presser foot is higher as its tip in order to allow the fabric to be easily inserted at the start of sewing. In addition, raising the presser foot lifter to the first position raises the presser foot to 10mm.
|
||
Adjustable differential feed. Adjust the differential feed to sew beautiful finishes, even with stretch fabrics such as knits and georgette. |
||
Adjustable presser foot pressure. The presser foot pressure can be adjusted according to the type of fabric being sewn.

Love it!
I am VERY happy with this machine. I've had the Brother Cover stitch machine for several years, and although it has worked fairly well I was excited to see this Juki Cover stitch offered. My goal this year is to make most of my everyday clothes -- tees, tunics, dresses, cardigans, leggings -- and I felt that I needed a better experience than the Brother Cover stitch could offer. I've had a Juki serger that has been a dependable workhorse for over 15 years, so I expected the same solid quality from the Juki Cover stitch and I am not disappointed! It does a beautiful job on hems. I've had it for 6 days,and so far I've made a knit dress. I used the Juki Cover stitch for the hem and for stitching bindings on the neckline and armholes -- not one skipped stitch, and sewing over seams was even and easy. It arrived when promised. It was very well packed in its own box, which seemed to rattle around a bit inside a big Amazon box, but no damage. Set up was easy, it comes threaded so I just tied on my own threads and pulled through. I used the default tension (#4 for each thread) and it worked perfectly on my knit fabric.

Good Machine but needs YouTube in English to show how to thread it correctly.
I recently purchased this machine. It works great, but it took me a lot of trial and error to get it threaded properly. The machine came threaded but the tread wasn't on a spool, it only was threaded. It was cumbersome with threads hanging all over the place and I didn't get a good view of what the proper pattern was. It didn't match up with the book in my opinion. I had a lot of breakage and seams that didn't take at all. I am still struggling with learning how to properly thread it. Unfortunately, the only YouTube videos that are available on this machine are only in Japanese. I could follow it to some extent but I struggled to get it right. I went to the seller and there was a technician who could talk with me on the phone but couldn't do a screen share. It's nearly impossible to understand how to thread a machine if the person showing you can't see what you are doing right. I also haven't been able to find any FB Groups for this machine yet. I understand it's very new and that might be why. But, after a lot of work to get it to work, I think I have figured it out. I hope that JUKI American creates a YouTube series on this machine so I can learn how to use it properly

so happy with this machine.
So far so good! Great little machine. Shipping was really fast and it's been pretty easy to learn to thread. Recommend wholly nylon in the looper and in general quality thread.

Juki does it again!
My wife really loves this thing. She started out quilting with her mother and got rather involved in that. Compared to the Long Arm machine she now owns, this Cover Stitch machine was a steal. Juki is her brand of choice, she now owns four of them. The F600, an Industrial straight stitch, this Cover stitch machine, and a serger. Can't say that I fault her, she hasn't had any problems of note with any of them, and typically any problems she encounters is just her getting used to these specialty machines and learning how to use them. This machine has sparked her interest away from quilts, and she makes all manner of clothes for herself and our kids now. Another quality experience from Juki!
