Juki MCS-1500 Cover Stitch and Chain Stitch Machine
For professional results when sewing apparel and decorative items, having a sewing machine that can both cover stitch and chain stitch will definitely give you more options when it comes to your creative projects. You can find such a machine with the Juki MCS 1500!
The Juki MCS 1500 is a great machine capable of both cover stitch and chain stitch in one machine at a great affordable price. It features 4-thread, 3-thread (wide), and 3-thread (narrow) cover stitches which are great for hems, necklines, cuffs of sleeves, and more.
The stitches also stretch, meaning you can use this machine for stretchable fabrics. The chain stitch is great for decorative stitching, but also serves a purpose – because it is quite strong, it’s great for waistbands and the side seams of pants as well.
The presser foot on the Juki MCS 1500 can be lifted easily at an upward angle to make it easier for you to slip the fabric underneath. The pressure of the presser foot is also adjustable based on the fabric you are working with.
The extension plate has guide lines to make it easier for you to manage your seams, while the presser foot also comes with a guide to use. There is an external thread cutter as well to make things even easier for you. The differential feed is adjustable with a single dial to make it easier to sew different fabrics.
The Juki Company warranty on the Juki MCS 1500 is 2 years for electrical parts, 5 years for mechanical parts exclusive of consumables parts, and a 90 day labor period to allow for adjustments by the vendor.

Great machine!
I highly recommend this machine. I already have a Juki serger (MO 654-DE), so it was extremely easy to learn to thread it because the systems are quite similar. This machine makes beautiful stitches, it's not noisy, and has been making me very happy.

Treat yourself
I purchased this machine after unfortunately trying to use the horrible Brother Pacesetter 2340CV for the past year. This machine is a dream!!! And well worth the extra money. 10/10 would buy again! Thank you Juki, you make my life wonderful :)

Perfect coverstitch machine
I have owned several sergers over the years, and my favorite is the Juki 655. For the longest time, I've been wanting a stand-alone Juki coverstitch machne that is on the same platform as my beloved 655. Juki came out with a serger/coverstitch combo but it has lay-in threading (as opposed to tension knobs like on the 655, which is much better in my opinion), and I didn't want a combo machine with crazy-making multiple lower loopers. I wanted a simple, straight-forward coverstitch machine like the Janome Coverpro, but with Juki quality stitches. I finally have my ideal coverstich! It works wonderfully, just like my Juki sewing machine and serger.

Amazing machine, so easy to learn!
This is a beautiful, smooth, easy to learn machine. I was torn on which coverstitch machine I wanted to get. I already had a sewing machine and a serger, so a coverstitch machine was the missing piece to have everything I needed to make beautiful clothes. Right out of the box, this machine worked perfectly. I had heard so many negatives about the Brother and Janome coverstitch machines (skipped stitches, issues with tension, etc.). So far, I have had ZERO problems with this machine. It literally feels like I am sewing through butter. It is not too loud of a machine at all. The threading instructions are so easy to follow and I had it threaded within an hour of opening the box. I am so happy I got this machine! I have had no skipped stitches, tension has been easy to set and figure out, and my clothes look great. Stretchy knit fabrics are pulled through evenly and easily. If you're unsure about buying this machine, go for it. I promise you will not regret it!

I love juki products all around
I have owned other machines and this one rocks. I love juki products all around. Quality machines that don't struggle on your projects. Once again a juki product exceeded my expectations! Goes over seams flawlessly without any struggle unlike the competition. Now my products look professional without the industrial price tag.

Love it!
I am VERY happy with this machine. I've had the Brother Cover stitch machine for several years, and although it has worked fairly well I was excited to see this Juki Cover stitch offered. My goal this year is to make most of my everyday clothes -- tees, tunics, dresses, cardigans, leggings -- and I felt that I needed a better experience than the Brother Cover stitch could offer. I've had a Juki serger that has been a dependable workhorse for over 15 years, so I expected the same solid quality from the Juki Cover stitch and I am not disappointed! It does a beautiful job on hems. I've had it for 6 days, and so far I've made a knit dress. I used the Juki Cover stitch for the hem and for stitching bindings on the neckline and armholes -- not one skipped stitch, and sewing over seams was even and easy. It arrived when promised. It was very well packed in its own box, which seemed to rattle around a bit inside a big Amazon box, but no damage. Set up was easy, it comes threaded so I just tied on my own threads and pulled through. I used the default tension (#4 for each thread) and it worked perfectly on my knit fabric.

Love this machine!
I bought this coverstitch machine after owning several of its competition machines (Brother Pacesetter 2340CV and a Janome Coverpro 1000CPX), this by far to me produces the best stitch quality and has the best response to tension/differential adjustments. The looper is a little more involved than other CS machines, but it is still easy to do once you learn where things go, and the stitch quality makes it worthwhile. I LOVE the 2.5/5mm coverstitch (as opposed to the 3/6mm of its competition) sizes this machine produces as well. I even appreciate the hem guide markers off to the right of the machine and have already used them a ton. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this machine and love all of my Jukis! : )
