My new passion
I've made several garments with my new JUKI Serger and I'm ecstatic about the machine... wondering WHY didn't I get one years ago! I love that I can take it anywhere!

Love Juki Serger, maybe not this one
I'd been using a juki MO-644D for about a year when it crashed. It would've cost more to fix than to buy a new one. I loved my Juki, its a great serger. So, I ordered another. It worked perfectly for about 6 hours. Then, all of a sudden, It would not pick up the top stitch. I re threaded 15+ times, replaced needles 4-5 times, I adjusted the tension, presser foot, stitch length, everything I would have done to my old Judi, to no avail. I returned it without any problems & received a replacement. I had issues with it too regarding the top stitch. I re threaded, replaced needles, adjusted tensions, etc. it is finally working great. I hope it conts. To work like a dream. If not I'll return it & purchase a serger from a local dealer. It will cost more, but at least I'll have a repair person I can talk too.

Good for first 3 uses, then broke a part
My wife loved the speed of it and was able to serge some clothing items and teepees. It was a pain to thread (I suspect sergers in general are that way) and did not come with any extra feet (knew that going in). Issue happened after the 3rd use and it broke a part under the needle, which also broke a needle. Of course those parts are not covered under warranty. The bottom piece was priced at $98 on Amazon, so we had to go outside to find it for $40. Either way, to use it 3 times and have it break is ridiculous. We did not go to the seller for help, but my contention is that it should not break after apx. 5 hours of use (and then charge an outrageous amount for the part). If it happens again once we get the part on (been down longer than its been up), I will update this review.

Juki 644d vs Brother 1034d
Most bang for yer buck. Loving this machine. Kinda sad I wasted 2 years with the Brother 1034d. Kinda happy the motor died on the Brother and I was able to replace it with the Juki! Better stitches and much quieter. Doesn't rattle and shake around like the Brother. Nicer rolled hem. Yay!! I know a lot of people compare these two machines, I did a lot of research before I bought a serger. Definitely casting my vote for the Juki now.

... 3 months of use the sewing machine repair guy recommended this serger to me said it was the best
After my brother 1034d broke after only 3 months of use the sewing machine repair guy recommended this serger to me said it was the best! I did my research and discovered that it is top rated and very affordable! I absolutely love it. Very easy to thread and it makes gorgeous rolled hems (something that my brother never did). I definitely recommend this serger. And as a bonus it is very quiet. Love it!!!!
