Delighted with value for cost
This machine is to replace an old Bernina 2000DE. The machine arrived promptly and packaged well. It was easy to transfer my thread through the machine. It was easy as turning the machine on and sewing. I sewed stretchy knits, terrycloth towels and newborn gowns with ribbing. All were successful. this machine is not as easy to thread the needles as my old Bernina because the foot doesn't swing out. But the first and second times are always the hardest. I am not a high use serger person, but this machine did well, and was reasonably quiet. I did have a tension issue when going from knits to terrycloth, but the manual was easy to follow and finding a solution was straightforward. The price was a leading factor in purchasing, plus Juki makes Bernina. This machine is also lighter and easier for me grab onto and take along as a lightweight.

Great serger - Juki MO-654DE
Bought this 4 yrs ago as a birthday gift. I'm very happy with this serger, especially having the differential feed, easy conversion to do rolled hems, fairly quiet and sturdy, doesn't move on the table. I looked at the pricey Baby Lock sergers, but they are very noisy, and "air-threading" is more of a gimmick than anything. (By saving $500-600, there's more to spend on fabric & specialty threads!) Spending some time with learning how to thread it, following the instruction book and having a Palmer-Pletsch serger DVD makes using it easy and enjoyable. So far it has done everything from silk scarves to home dec/upholstery fabric with ease and good results. A good serger reference book is very helpful (Nancy Zieman or Baker + Brown) for learning the different stitches and techniques, and making tension adjustments. Juki is a good reliable brand, and only routine cleaning and oiling is all that it has needed; no mechanical or electrical problems at all. It might be nice to have a 5-thread Juki, but this one is great and I'd buy it again!

Love, love
Love, love, love this machine! It came down to the Brother 1034D or the Juki and I'm glad I chose this one. It's sturdy yet easy to transport. I'm a beginner and it took me a hot minute to get it threaded but it's been a beauty ever since!

Great Threading Machine
I got this for my, who loves sewing, She's super happy with the Juki. I believe she had a hard time threading at first, but otherwise no issues with the performance of the machine. She love's it.
