Wonderful machine that does a hell of a job
Wonderful machine that does a hell of a job. The only problem I'm having is that the feed dogs get stuck in the down position and I have to turn the wheel to get them to pop back up. I'm no newb at this, so it's well taken care of and it also happened in the first week of use. I sometimes wish I had upgraded to the 2010 to have the fmq speed max thing, but overall I love this machine.

Excellent machine
I purchased this machine to use in my quilting frame and do free motion quilting. It is very high speed and sews nicely. I am extremely pleased and would recommend this machine.

Juki TL-2000Qi
High quality, heavy duty machine. My wife is a quilter and has experienced a lot of difficulties sewing through multiple layers of fabrics with her other machines. This machine has no problems sewing through thick,or multiple layered materials. My wife really likes the thread cutter also.

A very functional machine
I use this on my Gracie Quilting rack. I had a little trouble initially but once I got the correct remote control we have been turning out quilts with ease.

I Love this Machine!!!!
I have had this sewing machine for about 1 month now and I absolutely love it. I can see a big improvement in my Free Motion Quilting. The stitches are consistent and compared to the Pfaff QE4 I think the Juki is better for quilting. It is very powerful and fast. I have no regrets buying this sewing machine.

Absolutely Love It!
Bought this machine for free motion quilting and couldn't be happier. Runs fast and smooth, no thread breaking or missed stiches. I love my Bernina for piecing but the Juki is my quilting machine and I couldn't be happier! I have finished all of my own quilts since owning my Juki - it's paid for itself in what I would have spent on sending them out to be quilted.

This is a great quilting machine
This is a great quilting machine. I use it on my Pennywinkle quilt frame. I have had it a few weeks and have managed to quilt 3 queen sized quilts so far. It runs so smoothly. You have to remember to add oil but the book shows you exactly where to put the oil. It has only one stitch but it makes for a wonderful machine to quilt with. If you decided to get this machine, you will love it!

Strong, Solid and Sleek - perfect step-up machine
I had my eye on this machine for at least 5 years before I purchased it. I'd been sewing on a $200 Brother starter machine and turned out some good quality quilt tops and clothing on it, but eventually it wore out. I have a 30 year old Husquevarna viking that still runs beautifully but it just can't handle the FMQ like I wanted. This JUKI is absolutely all I had hoped for. The noise is so minimal, it doesn't bounce around the table even when I sew at high speeds--speaking of which, no more getting impatient with your top sewing speed on this machine. I worried about not having the speed control like on the 2010 model, but I wasn't willing to pay the extra price just for that. The foot control is good on this and I needn't have worried; I can go any speed comfortably. Remember to read the instructions and oil all points before you start. The throat is not as wide as one might expect, but you don't really need a full-on longarm in most cases. The extra height and 1.25 inches or so of throat space is plenty for most quilters. You can buy a frame or build on if you like, or just quilt even a large king quilt in quarters. The thread trimming works great and so far I haven't had any problems with starting again right away, even when the bobbin thread is invisible after trimming. NICE. The knee lifter lever is a time saver too, although I don't use it consistently because I have 3 little ones who are very curious. If you, like me, have LO's in the house and plan to leave this machine out, do use the cover and unplug all the cords when you leave it, just to be safe, and don't have it on anything that could be pulled down. She's not a move-around-often machine and could really do damage if she fell. I wish this particular package had come with a few more bobbins, but it's not a big deal. We always need more bobbins anyway. Basically, this is not a starter machine, but is absolutely perfect for a step up in your game and one that will last you a good long time if you take care of her. The feet are so sturdy and i like the threading--reminds me of my grandmother's 1950s Necchi that I learned to sew on--and nothing could shop that one. I have a feeling this lovely sleek and powerful JUKI will be just the same.

It is easy to control the speed with the foot pedal so ...
After researching and researching I decided to splurge on a new Juki - I went back and forth between this and the 2010, but decided it wasn't worth the extra $$$ to get the newer model. It is easy to control the speed with the foot pedal so I am very glad I gave it a try. I quilted a baby quilt on it first using just regular Coats and Clark thread and it did just fine :) I know it's linty, will just have to clean it more often. No tension issues. The thread cutter is my absolute favorite feature - save so much time and thread! I read both negative and positive reviews before buying big ticket items and after reading through the manual I think many people's complaints could have been solved fairly easily - not all, no, but the vast majority. I also am happy to have something that's not computerized... sure, there are some electrical features, but the majority of the features are mechanical. Yay! This is such a far cry from the struggles I had with my inexpensive Janome. I have had a number of back burner projects that I just didn't want to deal with - now? Bring it on! Let the quilting begin!
